A total of 139 S3-5 students attended the online seminar, entitled “Poetics of Pop Lyrics”, given by Dr Michael Cheuk (Senior Lecturer, HKMU Department of Humanities, Language and Translation). The seminar allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the poetic features of English language popular song lyrics. With some examples of English pop songs, they could analyze the authentic texts using the poetic features introduced.
