Gifted Programmes

12 S1-3 students were nominated to join the HKFYG Public Speaking Contest. They were assigned an advisor (Ms Hau, Ms Ma and Mr Cheng) and received guidance on speech writing and public speaking skills. 10 of them received a certificate of participation. The majority of participants expressed that the activity could motivate them to develop both their speech writing and presentation skills beyond classroom context.

 

Eight S5 students were nominated to join the Youth Boardroom programme organized by the HKFYG Leadership Institute. Students received advanced communication skills training, attended a field trip and experienced a roundtable discussion with all other participants. Students were engaged in the programme and found the roundtable discussion session rewarding.

 

15 S4 students were chosen to attend the SCMP Anchor Programme. Six 2-hour sessions were conducted between February and April 2025. Students were trained with various skills including presentation, researching and script writing. Students also had a chance to use the studio facilities. Their final video was played on S1-2 Inter-house Spelling Bee Competition and S3-4 Debating Coemption (Finals). Students’ feedback was positive as they found the experience interesting and rewarding.
